Elena Cant
Director
Elena Cant is an accomplished business executive in Healthcare and Life Sciences with significant experience across a wide variety of functional areas. In her current role as a COO at Culture Biosciences, Ms. Cant’s responsibilities span across different functions, including supply chain strategy, bioreactor manufacturing, bioprocessing services, quality, regulatory, and business development. Prior to this role, Ms. Cant held a COO position at TwinStrand Biosciences, a private genomics company, where she managed all operational matters related to the company’s products and had also been acting CFO and interim Head of Human Resources.
Ms. Cant started her career in Life Sciences as a strategy consultant at McKinsey & Co, where she consulted large pharma and medical device companies, major health insurers, and hospital chains. In the last decade, she moved into management roles in the Life Sciences industry and focused on establishing and growing new functions and businesses within large public pharmaceutical companies and within smaller private biotechs. She led acquisitions and integrations and played a major role in domestic and global turnarounds. She is a proven and effective leader through times of change and crisis, building stronger, more agile companies.
Elena received her MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, completed the Corporate Governance program at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and ‘Women on Boards: Getting On and Adding Value’ program at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She received the Rising Star Award from the Healthcare Businesswomen Association (HBA) and the Hall of Femme Award given by Medical, Marketing, and Media (MM&M).
